We have been successful this fifth year, in seeing the majority of the Assyrian community joining in, celebrating this festival together at Fairfield show ground. This happy event of bringing the Assyrians together, serves towards fulfilment of one of this organization’s main objectives, namely, unity, sharing in the blessings of this nation for the good and wellbeing of all , and to build a law-abiding and prosperous Assyrian Australian community, contributing to this blessed country’s success.

The Assyrian New Year is the most important national festival handed down from our remote past of history. The Assyrians of today all over the world celebrate this day as their national festival. Most New Year celebrations focus on family and friends. It is a time to reflect on the past and envisage a future; to remember the Assyrians who are still suffering from persecution, murder, kidnap, bombing, blackmail, and forced immigration, all this in order to uproot them from their original homeland-Assyria.

We invite all Fairfield community to come together and celebrate this New Year day with the Assyrians.
