American Arab Chamber elects new officers

DEARBORN — The American Arab Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors elected a new Executive Committee during its May 17 meeting.

The committee includes: Chairman Ali Dagher, an attorney; Former Chairman & Co-FounderAhmad Chebbani, president & CEO Omnex Accounting & Tax; First Vice Chair Amal Berry-Brown, vice president of National Arab Chaldean American Business Affairs Manager for Comerica Bank; Second Vice Chair Nafa Khalaf, president of Detroit Contracting Inc.; Treasurer Mo Sabbagh, vice president of Business Banking with Chase and Secretary James Berry, Wayne County Assistant Corporation Counsel.

“I am delighted to have gained the confidence of our Board in moving forward an agenda of growth and stability,” Dagher said. “It is my goal to reach out to our membership and grow the organization. The Chamber is one of the strongest and most essential institutions in our community and its growth and vitality is critical.”

Also the Board reelected board members Berry-Brown, Sabbagh, Berry, Dr. Daw R. Alwerfalli, Dr. Yahya Basha, Fred Eaton and Hassan Jaber.

“On behalf of the Chamber staff, members, sponsors, and friends, we would like to congratulate the new AACC Executive Committee,” said AACC Executive Director, Fay Beydoun. “Much of our success is owed to the contribution and diligent efforts of the AACC Executive Committee and the AACC Board of Directors, and we appreciate their willingness to serve, as we continue our great tradition of excellence and achievement.”

The American Arab Chamber of Commerce, founded in 1992, is the largest American Arab business organization in the country.
