Iraq: 2 more Christians murdered in Mosul

The murder of two Christians in Mosul, Iraq on December 14 has raised new fears among the members of the country’s religious minority as Christmas approaches.

Chaldean Catholic Archbishop Amel Shamon Nona of Mosul said that the reasons for the killings are not yet known. And Archbishop Giorgio Lingua, the apostolic nuncio in Iraq, added: “We must be careful not to link each episode of violence to religious hatred.” Nonetheless the prelates agreed that “the faithful are afraid.”
