Baghdad Council Militias stormed the headquarters of Ashurbanipal Cultural Society in Baghdad and shouting “our city is Islamic, leave it”

A security force stormed in the late hours of Thursday night the headquarters of Ashurbanipal Cultural Society at the center of Baghdad. This society is a civic organization deals with publishing the Syriac cultural heritage.
  The Director of the society, Janan Slewa, said to radio Sawa that the actions of the storming force caused many material damages. She demanded from the senior officials in the government to intervene and stop the attacks against the Christians in Iraq.
  In another context, the Director-General of Almada Cultural Organization, Ghada Alamily, said that she had been attacked by the guards of the protection force of one of the ministers. The attacks came when she was in her way to the headquarters of the organization on Thursday evening.
  In turn, the Journalistic Freedoms Observatory denounced this attack on Alamily. The Executive Director of the Observatory, Ziad Al-Ajily, called to respect the principles of human rights and demanded the regulation of the movement of official’s motorcades through the streets of the capital.
  The last few months have seen many protests and demonstrations organized by cultural institutions and civic organization protesting the violations against public freedoms in the country. It should be mentioned that many journalists have been exposed in the past to attacks by the protection forces and guards of the government officials and the security personnel in the country.
