Metro Detroit mother, father die of COVID-19 less than a month apart; 3 children left behind

(WXYZ) — Metro Detroit parents have lost their battle with COVID-19, dying nearly a month apart and leaving behind three children.A mother of three, Nada Afram Naisan, 46, was laid to rest after complications from COVID-19 on April 20. Less than a month later, on May 11, Nada’s husband Nameer Ayram, who was in the ICU due to COVID-19, died after complications from the disease.

 
“We were told both mom and dad were critically ill with COVID-19,” a statement from The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity read. “Mom and Dad were at different hospitals and both on ventilators. Left at home are their three children ages 13-20.”

Now, the eldest son, who is 20 years old, is left the responsibility of taking care of expenses and caring for his siblings.

According to The Chaldean American Ladies of Charity (CALC), the family fled Iraq eight years ago and the children have no close relatives in Michigan.
