The Islamic State burned rare Syriac manuscripts at Almajmoaa neighbourhood in the city of Mosul

Witnesses from Mosul confirmed that militants of the Islamic State burned a number of literary books in addition to burning historical Christian manuscripts in the city.
The witnesses added to the correspondent of Ankawa.com site that militants from the terrorist Islamic State burned last Tuesday, 13th of Jan 2015, these books in the neighbourhood of Almajmoaa Althaqafia neighbourhood located northeast of the city of Mosul.
These people also said among the books that have been burned are manuscripts confiscated from the churches in the area, Mar Afram, Mar Paul and Our Lady of the Annunciation. In addition, different story books novels and books of poetry were also burned.
The militants invited many people from the area to gather and follow the process of burning of those books. The militants of ISIL claim in front of the gathered people that these books are against the orientation of the Islamic State and aims to stir promiscuity, pornography and overtaking on the divine self.
