New Metropolitan for Mosul Archdiocese, Iraq

21.jpgOn Sunday November 27, 2011His Holiness the Patriach Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at St. Peter & St Paul’s Patriarchal Cathedral in St. Ephrem Monastery, Ma’aret Saidnaya, Syria.

His Holiness assisted by attended metropolitans, and during the Liturgy consecrated Rabban Dawood Matti Sharaf as Archbishop of Mosul and Environs, His holiness assisted by the metropolitans: Mor Philoxenus Mattias Nayis (patriarchal Assistant, Metropolitan of St. Aphrem Theological Seminary, Ma’arret Saidnaya, Damascus), Mor Gregorios Yohanna Ibrahim (Archbishop of Aleppo & Environs in Syria), Mor Ostatheos Matta Roham (Metropolitan of Jazirah & Euphrates), Mor Selwanos Petros AL-Nemeh (Metropolitan of Homs & Hama), Mor Gregorios Saliba Shamoun (Retired Metropolitan of Mosul), Mor Severius Issac Saka (Metropolitan of St. Aphrem Seminary, Mosul), Mor lrenious Paulose (Metropolitan of Kozhikode Diocese), Mar Chrisostomos Markose, those who came to participate in this spiritual ceremony.

His Holiness has given Rabban Dawood Matti Sharaf the fatherly name “Mor Nicodemos”.
