KRG Representative to Poland met with Director of Department of Africa and Middle East in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

Ziyad Raoof and Piotr PuchtaOn 11 of August, Director of Department of Africa and Middle East in Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Piotr Puchta visited The Office of Representative of Kurdish Regional Government to Poland. At the beginning of meeting Ziyad Raoof passed detailed report about current military and political situation in Iraq and Kurdistan. During the meeting discussions about provided until now international military assistance and humanitarian aid took place.
Also ways and possibilities of supplying assistance from Polish side were discussed. Ziyad Raoof emphasized that military support is necessary to deflect attacks of terrorists. ISIL has military predominance, because it gained a huge stockpiles of weapons and ammunition, which fleeing Iraqi troops left behind. In addition to humanitarian and military issues, the subject of talks was KRG’s relations with government in Baghdad. Ziyad Raoof expressed the stance of Kurdistan Regional Government and its two-track activity – participation in political process in Baghdad and simultaneous efforts to hold independence referendum.
Meeting proceeded in very friendly atmosphere. Director of Department and KRG Representative to Poland agreed to remain in touch as soon as possible in order to arrange help.
