Iraq Christians call for equality in poll law

41324-iraqi_christian_children_2_11.jpgChristian political powers call to deal equally with all sects in the election law and refuse to treat Christians as second degree citizens.
In a statement by a number of parties including Chaldean Democratic Forum, Democratic Beit Nahrain Party and Assyrian National Party, the parties argued that

the second amended version of Iraq’s election law defects Christians historical background.
Christians are not just a religious component; they have their own cultural, national and historic grounds in Iraq, the statement added.
They are subject to discrimination in the present version of the election, given that they are the only component included in the quota, it noted.
