Peace messages in meeting of Syriac community

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu met representatives of Syriac community in Ankara on Monday.

There is no ethnical, sectarian and religious discrimination for us in the region, said Davutoglu. Davutoglu said that Turkey was ready to extend every type of assistance to its Syriac brothers in Syria.

Noting that Turkey saw Syriacs as its brothers, Davutoglu said that Turkey was trying to help Syriacs who came from Syria to Turkey in the recent period.

Patriarchal Vicar of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Metropolit Filiksinos Yusuf Cetin said that Syriacs loved Turkey very much, and they did not have any problems with Turkey so far.

Cetin noted that they did their best for integrity and development of Turkey all the time. We hope wars in the Middle East will stop soon, and people will live in peace and happiness, said Cetin.
