louie_award1.JPGCommunity received a Multicultural award for excellence from the
Victoria Multicultural Commission. A special awards
ceremony was hosted by the Hon. Alex Chernov AO QC Governor of Victoria
and was attended by over 500 members of Victoria’s multi faith and
multicultural communities.

Louie received the award from the Premier of Victoria Mr Ted Ballieu for
his service delivery to the Chaldean community through the Australian
Chaldean Federation and Chaldean Social Cultural Association of Australia ( Babylon Social Club)
During his five years as Secretary, Louie has demonstrated a strong commitment to cultural diversity and
provides tremendous support to newly arrived Chaldeans. The Federation
participates and instigates events to promote harmony and strengthen bonds
among all members of the community.

Louie a Cultural Support Worker also provides a key role in helping young
asylum seekers integrate into society, he worked for the MITA detention
centre and is currently providing much need support in his work for Mackillop Family Services.
