Breaking news: the bombing of the Syriac Orthodox Church, Mar Afram, in Kirkuk this morning

Our sources in Kirkuk reported that at dawn on Monday, 15/08/2011, a bomb

exploded inside the church of Mar Afram in Kirkuk. The explosion caused great material damages to the building of the church.
The sources said to the site of Ankawa.com that the device exploded at around 2 o’clock on Monday morning, 15/08/2011, inside Mar Afram church for Syriac Orthodox, which located at the workers square in central Kirkuk and caused series damages to the building of the church.
It’s worth mentioning that Father Georges Elias, the pastor of the church, was inside during the blast, but was unhurt. Father Elias confirmed to the site of Ankawa.com that the explosion did not result in wounding any person and said, it’s caused only material damages to the building of the church.
It should be mentioned that this is the second bombing of the churches in Kirkuk city this month. At dawn on the 2nd of August 2011, the city witnessed the bombing of the Church of the Holy Family at Shaterlo area. It was reported that the blast wounded 13 persons, including the priest Father Emad Yelda.
