Iraqi authorities must help Christian minority: pope

Pope Benedict XVI on Friday urged Iraq to help its Christian minority and stem the emigration of Christians, during an unprecedented question-and-answer session on Italian television.

“All the institutions that truly have the possibility to do something in Iraq for you should do it,” the pope responded to a question from the Christian community in Iraq on how to encourage Christians to stay in the country. -AFP
