SIIC chief discusses with Patriarch Emmanuel Dali minorities’ rights in Iraq

 BAGHDAD: Chief of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed on Tuesday with the Patriarch Emmanuel Dali, the cardinal of the Chaldean Catholic Church in Iraq, minorities’ rights in Iraq, according to a statement of his office.

“Al-Hakim received Cardinal Emmanuel Dali III at his office, with whom he discussed the latest developments in the country and the importance to protect minorities’ rights, mainly Christians, in the country,” said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

For his part, the cardinal valued the national stances of al-Hakim and his support to the rights of all Iraqi components.
