“Life in Bota Fogo”The Journey Within

 International Assyrian Pianist Joseph Fraidon Poles releases fifth album “Life in Bota Fogo,” featuring eight original tracks, all composed by Poles ~ The Prostitute That Made Me Cry, Bella of Siracusa, African Winter, Markus in Mykonos, Life Inside Bota Fogo, And My Grandfather’s Chair Still Rocks in Uruk, Jordim Botanico and The Last City.

The album’s inspiration comes from the artist’s own lifetime of international journeys, where in memory his grandfather’s chair still rocks somewhere in Iraq, the artist’s place of birth, to a beautiful African safari, and the sunny laughter of Mykonos, a handyman he befriended in Greece.

The transparency between the artist and Bota Fogo gave the album its title, named after a neighborhood in Rio De Janeiro where an old man fashionably dug his next meal out of a garbage can, or catching a glimpse of a beautiful woman as she steps out of a brothel. . . Bota Fogo remains a journey within, and a world separate from ours, where one can not enter, nor change.
