Car bomb damages Iraqi archbishop’s residence

A car bomb damaged the residence of the Chaldean Catholic archbishop of Kirkuk, Iran on July 4.
The primary target of the bomb was apparently not the Catholic Church but a Sunni Muslim leader working at a neighboring office. The target had left the building and was not hurt.

Windows were shattered and doors in the archbishop’s residence were damaged by the blast. The explosion also did some damage to the city’s cathedral. But Mass was celebrated on schedule in Sunday evening.
