The president of the security committee in Nineveh Governorate Board, Abdalraheem Al-Shamary, said that the official authorities in the city assigned one of the Christian officers as a commander for the security forces used for protecting the churches and other Christian worship places. This arrangement was made after the terrorist attacks that targeted two churches in the city, two days ago. Al-Shamary added, in a private statement to “ankawa.comâ€, this decision came after the meeting of Nineveh Governor, Atheel Al-Najafy with a number of security officers.
  He affirmed that the security forces will make strong security arrangements for the protection of churches especially with the coming feasts of Christmas and New Year.
