Urgent/The abolition of four explosive devices near the church of St. Paul in Mosul

Iraqi army forces annulled the effect of four explosive devices placed near the church of St. Paul, in Al-Thakafa district in the city of Mosul, on Sunday, the 8th of Nov. 2009. An Iraqi army source told the reporter of Ankawa.com that a military engineering team was able to invalidate the four explosive bombs after surrounding the area, evacuating the church from the people attending the 4 clock Sunday afternoon mass and banned the operation of vehicles. The four bombs were detonated by the army troop in the vicinity of St. Paul church between 12 noon and 3.30 pm. The detonation was accompanied by a loud sound and dense mass of dust. The four bombs were placed near the church in spite of the region is secured by local police forces.
