The kidnapping of Christian citizen in Kirkuk and the presidency of the Bishopric of Kirkuk issued an appeal calling for the release of the kidnapped

A reliable source told the site of Ankawa.com that one of our Chaldean Syriac Assyrian sons in Kirkuk, his name is Imad Elia Abdel Karim, was kidnapped on Friday night, the 2nd of October 2009 by an unknown group after they shot him. Imad Elia is 55 years old, married and has two children, boy and girl
  Following the kidnap accident, the presidency of the Bishopric of Kirkuk for Chaldean issued, on the 3rd of October 2009, an appeal calling the kidnappers of Imad Elia Abdel Karim to fear God the Judge and to return Imad Elia to his family and his children sooner. The “call” said, the Christian in Kirkuk have became in recent months, “the target of threats, kidnappings and killings”, explaining that this non honest style for who want to make political gain out of it, and it is “haram” to those who try to blackmail for money, and “the haram no matter how long, it does not last”.
  The “call” also said, anyone who could imagine that the targeting of Christians religiously permissible is wrong because “they are the nearest people in cordiality to those who believe”, and calling for solidarity to the people of the city and not letting the field of security to deteriorating for political motives or to other things.
