“An Angel and a King”

image001.jpgOh my king, last night I watched you as you slept in your courts of “Dur Sharrkin,” (the house of Sargon). I knelt before my Lord and your maker asking for your healing. I gently stroked your hair and softly kissed your cheek. I even shed a tear, or two, longing to be with you. At the break of dawn, it fazed me that I was not of this earth and from your creation, but a guardian angel who was longing to be with a human, sent to watch over “Sharru-kinu,” (true king).
