Students in Miss Kirstin Bethavas’ 3rd period social studies class at Carl H. Kumpf Middle School in Clark, work hard on advertisements for ancient products and services.

The students, as part of a unit on ancient Mesopotamia, learned about the many inventions and innovations created by the people of the Assyrian Empire. To illustrate the importance of these creations, students created advertisements for many of these objects. The creative submissions included advertisements calling for citizens to join the Assyrian army and help grow the empire, advertisements for river boat tours of conquered territory, and advertisements for artisans making and selling the newly-invented battering ram.
