IRAQ VICAR SAYS CHRISTIANS STILL FLEEING
(AGI) Vatican City – Talking on the Vatican Radio, the Chaldean Patriarchal Vicar of Baghdad, Monsignor Shlemon Warduni, has said “things in Iraq are getting worse and the number of Christians here is falling. However, the Christian community continues to hope for peace that will bring security and stop the exodus of so many believers.” addressing the Easter celebrations held by the Chaldean community, Monsignor Shlemon Warduni added, “There are still many Christians who wish to contribute to an authentic rebirth of Iraq. That is what we want, what we are waiting for, what we pray for. We pray for a stable government, we pray that the Lord will put an end to all violence and all hatred.” . .
