Thousands gather in Downtown Detroit for Arab & Chaldean Festival

(WXYZ) – The Arab & Chaldean Festival is being held August 1st and 2nd, 2015, in Downtown Detroit’s Hart Plaza.
The festival opens at noon both days.
This year, the festival will be celebrating its 44th Anniversary for the first time in the city of Detroit. The fun will include a variety of Arab and Chaldean food, ethnic cultural gallery exhibits and live music. Acts set to take the stage include Hussam Al-Rassam, Rafid Sawa, Laith Aliraqi, Omar Jarbo, Rafit Eta and Kamal Kareem (Saxaphone).

There will also be an array Folklore Dance troupes, and a fashion show scheduled on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at 8:00pm.
